Silicon carbide material
The key to determining the properties of silicon carbide materials lies in their microstructure. Our silicon carbide ceramic materials have been carefully developed and designed, with a density of over 3 .15g/cc, fine and uniform grains, and an average grain size of less than 10um.
Compared with traditional mirror materials, atmospheric pressure sintered silicon carbide materials have superior mechanical, thermal and optical processing properties, enabling ultra-lightweight design and the construction of integrated internal cooling structures. They far surpass aluminum, glass, and other types of silicon carbide and aluminum silicon carbide, providing a brand- new technical path for high-thermal-load optical systems.
Silicon carbide features high rigidity and strength, excellent thermal performance, and thermal stability in terms of geometric dimensions, especially in low-temperature environments, while avoiding the health risks associated with wrinkles. These outstanding properties make HuaCerae silicon carbide materials an ideal choice for aerospace, airborne, and ground-based electro-optical applications, suitable for manufacturing high-performance lightweight mirrors, structural components, and substrates for optical imaging, infrared imaging, laser targeting, and laser communication applications.
Our capabilities
After optical polishing, the surface roughness of the silicon carbide mirror can reach <1nm (RMS). In some applications (for example, 1/20 wave), no surface modification is required to meet the application requirements.
Manufacture lightweight silicon carbide mirrors with diameters ranging from 50mm to 800mm.
The thinnest lightweight thickness can be as low as 2mm.
From prototype to small-scale production, the manufacturing of complete silicon carbide components.
SiC/SiC or SiC/metal components can be fabricated into complex shapes. Component technologies: ceramic welding, epoxy resin bonding,bolt connection.
